not really surprising.

the platinums last longer, the standards are more effective.

You shouldn't notice a difference. They reckon the platinums give a high spark gap voltage and all that due to a small surface for it to jump from (more concentrated spark or something like that). They last longer, thats about it.

AND ONE THING I JUST FIND IN THE NGK WEBSITE IS THEY SUGGEST TO USE BKR6EP-8 INSTEAD OF BKR6EP-11 ....BUT, DOES IT MATTER?

the -XX at the end of the number is what the plugs are pre-gapped to, find your old plugs and see if they have a -XX number after the code. Otherwise check the gap on them and see if it closer to .8mm or 1.1mm

You probaly wont notice a difference between platinums and regulars ones if theyre the same plugs. But if one set is colder or warmer then you might.

Yep, can regap them. Get a set of feeler gauges and set it to whatever size gap you want.

As for the hotter colder thing, thats what the number refers to in the code for the plug. 6 is the next colder plug down from a 5.
