Altezza 3SGE high impedance injectors,

Postby crispy'86 » Wed Aug 24, 2005 1:48 pm

Helping friend out here, apparently the 4agze injecotrs are low impedance??? (help here please), it's been claimed the gze ones are, Friend is going to run turbo 4age with aftermarket etc, Now i've got some 3SGE injectors lined up from an Altezza Beams 3SGE injectors, these are high impedance.

Will this affect the ecu, (being aftermarket should be right to tune it. ) as the settings are for the turbo it came with on the engine, only thing is how will the injectors affect the settings on the ecu, will we need toi run a resistor with the wiring for the injectors??? As they may be over fuelling the engine.

if you are running low impedance injectors on a setup which is for high impedance, you will need to install a resistor yes.
Most aftermarket ECU's can control either, in fact most ecu's can control either, just dependant on the resistor or not.
I think the GZE ones are low, so you will need to remove the resistor and short out the terminals on it to run the new high impedance ones.

This worked fine on my VR4 when i installed RX7 550cc injectors.

btw what does the altezza injectors flow ? Also is there a difference between the beams motor and normal ?

The altezza injectors apparently flow 330cc from beams engine, and i think they are different between the beams 3sge and other engine types i.e normal 3sge from celica or the 1g celica

The ecu in question is a microtech lt-8s and has been running 4agze injectors which are low impedence. The 3s injectors are high impedence, does the ecu have a circuit function to select an impedence range? Might have to go see phil and nick at nzefi for some help :)

Reason for the 3s ones is we've got hold of the plugs and injectors. 4agze ones are common but then id need a gze loom for the plugs. I've been sugested to use 440cc sr20det, low impedence and same plug as bluetop, but apparently they don't fit perfectly in the seat :?
