I have tein coil overs, they are good, but they are way too stiff for the road, everybump it goes crash bang, and you forever going up and down in your seat.
When u hit a smooth piece of road (very rare) they handle real nice but most corners are bumpy and it sets the car off balance and skips over the bumps loosing traction.
If you think the racetrack is smooth, I can tell you they seem to stiff for NZ race tracks as well!!!!!!!!!
But the ones that you get for say Altezzas, Primeras they dont seem that bad.

Tein is a top brand. Product is very high quality.
If you buy the right set it'll be as good as any other brand.
Like TRD, Tein make a lot of circuit suspension and this can be too hard for street use.
We've found this quite common in some of the cars we've imported and it may be the reason some sets are offered for sale.

If your shocks are worn out, why not get brand new factory ones?
Dad takes coilovers off cars and puts brand new factory on most of the time and they handle good as. My BMW had brand new monroe shocks on it and it was quite stiff but not too stiff for road use.

reason for coilovers is i want to adjust my ride hight, im not happy with the hight it is sitting at with the lowering springs in it.

Fair enough, coilovers seem to be way to hard, from the ones i've driven anyway.
Must be some that arn't so hard

I running TEIN coil overs in my BZ-G & yes they very stiff even on the softest setting. I wouldn't say they're that unbearable but you do feel every bump in the road. Maybe a bit of an overkill unless you're planing on spending some time at the track.

i would stay away from them personally as they are too stiff for nearly all of nz road conditions.specially those streets local to you like the main drag.
