1984 Toyota Corona XX - Specs???

Postby levin_it_large » Tue Oct 04, 2005 7:53 pm

Hoping someone can clear this up ... my mate has recently purchased a 1984 Corona 4 dr sedan... the model has been badged as an XX... the engine is a 3t ... 1800cc 5 speed manual... RWD

tt-141r

may this have had a transplant of any sort... maybe its under a different badge... any help would be great...

Cheers

I dont know but its possible different badges may have been stuck on. What does the rego card describe it as. mine says toyota corona GT-T.

The engine is probably not a transplant, they came with the 3t.

look on the firewall plate you can decipher the letters after the model code on this website...... http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepage ... wcodes.htm

hope this helps a bit, find my carpage on toycrazy.net for a few gt-t specs
Tell your mate good choice of car :) coronas rule! post a pic im always interested in ideas to make my rona a little less ugly lol
Alex.

The first T is the engine the second t is the model corona in this case. 141 is the chassis code.

Sounds like It's a 3T with T series rear end mayb F series if your lucky and would be good for a 3TGTEU.

You lucky man what I wouldn't give for a factory toyota with a t series engine think of the endless potential.

yeah the engine possibilties are great and it has pretty large engine bay. lexus V8 fits in with tons of space. 1ggteu sixes can be squeezed in, dunno bout a 1jzgte tho 8O

t series endless potential? endless problems finding parts more like it. Anyways alot of these 3t coronas are badged xx, xt etc its just the trim spec. Just like a ke70 is badged a dx etc has nothing to do with the motor

they might be hard to find for parts where you are but not in chch 2t's and 3t's are still a dime a dozen just like t series diffs.

I have yet to find a complete 3TGTEU but I know where a intake manifold + ecu and turbo manifold minus turbo everything you need to turbo any T series motor.

Now all I need is the TA61 series celica pop forward head light shape

GO THE TWIN CAM 8 VALVE!!!!!!!

they parts are around for other t series I was mainly refering to 3tgteu parts which are getting scarce and old. I had an tt141 and was looking into the 3T turbs but its working out cheaper to go 4age turbs in an ae85.
