TRD LSD questions

Postby nick m » Wed Oct 05, 2005 9:11 pm

Hi i have searched the forums regarding info on t-series diff but have got a bit of conflicting information.
Will the trd LSD's fit in all T series diffs?
also what models came with t series?
AE86
te71
Corona's (what models)
celica's (what models)

i'm not really worried about disk brakes just whether i can buy an LSD center for it. Basically i want to know what models i can get a t series diff from that i will be able to put a TRD LSD into
Thanks
Nick

now im not an expert on all the diffs...

but te71 is the same as the early ae86.
be sure to get as much info as you can from the donor vehicle.
you will need to know the year of the diff as there is a change in them in late 85.

the 60 series celicas coronas and carinas etc use a different LSD than the ae86.

try looking for an st195 rear diff. they take the same LSD as the ae86 and will be pretty easy to find i think. also some 4wd corollas like ae95 etc.

so really theres HEAPS of choice

:D

depends which LSD you have as to fitment. if it is the late (85-) unit, it will only fit with the late axles.
if it is early, then any 6.7" T series diff will fit. have a look here:

i have a TA45 Ceica diff for sale: http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/auct ... permanent=

Thanks for your replies guys.

So if i have read right i can get any t series diff and buy an after market LSD for it to suit what ever size axles my diff has?

or are aftermarket LSD only available for the eary smaller axles?

Cheers

there is a diff for the later ones.

have a look through here:

http://trdparts.jp/english/parts_lsd_mechanical.html

look at the p/n fo rthe ae86 ones, then scroll down and look to see what shares the same diff.

hae a look in the FAQ section too....
