Fuel Swirlpot Pump Wiring

Postby 85AW20v » Sat Oct 08, 2005 8:45 pm

I've picked up an inline pump in preparation for a swirl pot in the AW race car. I'm thinking that the standard intank pump will feed the pot, with a return back to the tank and the inline pump the injectors. Can't really see the point in changing the intank to a high volume low pressure external as it obviously feeds enough fuel as it is.

Question is should the intank pump be pumping as soon as the key is turned on and the inline pump when the engine is running or should both only be pumping when the the engine is running, as a safety feature like the standard setup? Currently, intank pump only runs when AFM flap is open.
See ya

Neither pumps should run when the engine is off. If you have a smash and the engine stalls, you don't want the intank pump to continue running for obvious reasons. I'll be running both pumps on my race car off the same live feed.
