Can you adjust the Idle Up Motor / Stepper Motor on a 4agze?

Postby CozmoNz » Sun Oct 09, 2005 7:45 pm

I see there are 2 screws into it, however it seems you can slide it back and forth.

is this mearly to remove it (giving leway so you can pivot it off), or so you can set it?

reason im asking, is you dont go playing with things you can adjust by undoing screws without knowing what your doing *cough* tps etc.

so yeh, can i unscrew it and have a play, or is it crucial it stays in the same position?

yeh, its a bit of an arse, but if i leave it unpluged, idle rises way up X_X

and plugging it in seems to bring it down (however that works, i dont know...)

you wouldnt happen to know what the clicking noise is that "stops" the higher idle?

soon as your idle goes above 2500ish, something kicks in and lowers it again (and over and over again as the idle trys to rise past it).

codes bring up nothing, ill have a play with it tomoz, see if i can *adjust it*, but if not, its a newie / replacement.

well seeing as this fault started after youd been spraying water everywhere... id look for broken connections, water filled plugs etc etc
