New GZE faults...

Postby peas » Sat Nov 26, 2005 7:33 am

Have just had my rebuilt engine fitted and it threw up fault codes 51 and 52. 51 has been rectified but 52 is knock sensor/air con/ECU. The air con has been disconnected with just the pump in place as it is needed to retain the power steering. Is it possible that the disconnected pump is causing this problem, the revs sit at 1,500 at idle as well as if the engine were trying to compensate for a/c being on or something. Other than that the engine runs very well.

Any ideas? And is the knock sensor on the rear of the block between 2 and 3?

it will be the air con, you need to bridge some terminals on one of the plugs on the gearbox side of the car. cant remember which one but im sure someone else could shed some light....

yeah mine does the same, dont worry too much about it, jsut becuase aircon is gone, i gave up worrying, it wont affect ya powersteering in anyway, just not related my radiator fan does stay on now becuase a/c is gone, but also becuase i cant be bothered finding which plug to bridge, plus extra cooling on the turbo :)

but if anyone does know what plug to bridge, :D

knock sensors on 4agze's is a very common problem now days.
for the a/c took my pump out etc and it didnt give a code, the fan jsut stayed on all the time, but i left it like that cos it was helping cool my oil cooler and turbo :D
