st205 dyno'd - feed back please

Postby TRDmod » Mon Dec 05, 2005 11:56 pm

hi, got my st205 dynod recently, this sat in fact, and after all the mods i spent on it.

original stock only with a 2.5 inch ex and cold air, 12 psi was 163.9 kw

now with the new set up 12 psi was 173.1 kw atw, and 15.8 psi was 206kw atw

is this normal?

you might have to go into a little more detail for those of us not familar with your set up
206kW is pretty decent in a 4wd, should make it a low-mid 12 sec car I would imagine.

This thread is useless without dyno plots (and a complete list of mods).

As a comparison...

2.5" full exhaust system with decat.
TOMs panel filter
Profec B Spec II EBC set at 16.2psi.

Would certainly be interesting to see your dyno printout and what mods you have done to acheive 206kW @ wheels.

Postby TRDmod » Tue Dec 06, 2005 3:45 pm

sorry guys Sh*t for got to put mods

custom equal length manifold, machined inside to smooth it, kinda novelty lol turbonetics 450 bhp rated turbo with 3.5 inch inlet designed for top end power. codl intake, 2.5 ex no cat, custom 3 inch down pipe from turbo, 35 mm ex wastegate, no screamer pipe. greddy profec type s boost controller.

not to mention a recaro seat that should add 50 bhp:D so all of the above

206 on 15.8

gt4 20, what high kw rating di dyou achieve? it doesnt say on ur printout

I just noticed that Gary's and kiwimr2's dyno are all done in 3rd gear, while mine is done in 4th.

Anyone know how this will affect the results?

hi

Postby TRDmod » Tue Dec 06, 2005 10:47 pm

i dont know how to put the printout on, and also i dont know how to scan it with out a scanner
but its done in third gear, so its the same as yours looks similar but 206 and the torque is a lil higher

as far as i understood, one of ther easons doing it in 3rd or 4th gear is so they can read the power out put slowly....on 1st gear the dyno wouldnt be fast enough to take in the info...is this right, thats what iw as told by some...none the less mines in 3rd gear.

sorry cant put the printout on, why do you want it?
you dont believe me:P well, if you dont thats ok, i didnt believe it either, i even asked him if it was right....and i dotn think its that high..well i dunno, definately happy with how much faster it is though:D oh yeah!

well power doesn't change with gear ratios, but torque does, so your torque at the wheels will be lower, but other than that it shouldn't make much difference

our dynos always read slightly lower power readings in 3rd gear over 4th as we have more drivetrain loss in 3rd than 4th .. but there is really stuff all in it ...
whats that plot with nearly 250kw ?

well a turbo car will have more load and should come on boost sooner in higher gears, doesn't seem to make sense that the gear should change drivetrain loss
