ST162 speed Cut

Postby Skidman » Tue Dec 13, 2005 9:29 pm

Hey dose anybody know what the go is there? it didnt cut when it went past 180, and carried on till the needle was pointing straight down then CUT! whammy! no go.
Whats up with that? I didnt think that the ST162 with the 3SGE had one? and no it wasnt the rev limiter...dont think it has one.
Anybody know the go? Id estimate it to be about 210kph when it happend?

your speedo is innacurate, take GPS with you next time and you will find it is happening arround 185... +10% innacuracy at 185 is ~ 204 which was speedo aproximately displaying, also don't forget that any measuring device will be extremely inacurate if it is measuring out of designed range...

Sorry malcom wasnt really a question, but rather comformation.
So how do i get round it? Id rather spend hours mucking round than spend money on a fuel cut defender.

you can cut the speed signal wire going to the ECU from the speedo. This will throw an error code, but it shouldn't put it into any form of limp mode.
