Oxygen sensor/ pipe size help...

I have gone and got some blacktop headers, and silvertop 2-1 secondaries.
I am planning to remove the portion where the exhaust would normally have gone over the crossmember. The proplem there is that the oxygen sensor is after that portion.
Now I know that I will need to replace the Oxygen sensor, which I am planing to place just after the pipes go in to one.

My question: What size should the pipe that I weld to the secondaries/sensor is placed be?

same size as ur exhaust 2 1/4 ish?? just cut the flange off the 20v one for the oxy sensor and weld it onto the new pipe an drill out the center hole :p

You could just not run an oxy sensor. Cut the wires and make it open circuit. The ECU will default to running ritch so it wont cause any problems the default setting in toyotas for open circuit in the oxy sensor circuit is 13:1 So wont cause bore wash, but will use a little more gas. The performance will not be comprimised, but economy will to a small extent.

how would not having that sensor affect the car?
cus when i done my conversion that wire from the sensor went into the car, not the engine bay, so i ddnt hook it up to anything, and mine has been running sweet

oxygen sensor is vital to the correct fueling of a car...
by measuring the oxygen in the gases the ECU adjusts the air/fuel ratio to give better performance. So yes it is needed to make the car run well

this is a prime example of why issueing of tech advice needs to be regulated

the only times your car dose not use the o2 sensor is from turn key for a short time or under full throttle

it is imperative to correct running of your car

nto having it will cause bore washing amounst other things and can lead to a engine failure

use what ever size you wish to make the rest of the exhaust
as long as the sensor protudes enough to get a good sample you will have no issues

Ok...I was unsure if increasing the area/volume of gas that the sensor can read would affect the fueling sufficiently to be worried. Eg going from 2" to 2.5" would muck up readings, and therefore the fueling...
