rage, there's nothing wrong with buying another brand tyre to make up a good set. It's probably what most people do. As others have said, make sure it's the same type i.e. directional, non directional, radial etc ...
It's also critical on some cars to ensure the rolling circumference is very similar.
If I were you I'd put the two good tyres on the front and I'd head down to whoever sells good used tyres and find one with similar wear to the other OK tyre and stick these on the rear. Then, when they've both worn out at the same time, you buy two new ones.
