Keyless running

Postby Sprinter » Sun Dec 18, 2005 9:19 am

Hi there,

Have just got a Caldina GT which is all good, but when I turn the engine off and take the key out, the engine continues to run for 60sec's.
I can understand this for a GT-T (letting everything cool down properly) but didn't expect it for a GT.
Is this normal, do I need it, can I disengage it ?

thanks
Andy

I have no idea if they do it from standard for any reasion (have not worked on one yet), but you should be able to bipass it either way. Has it go any obvious additions on it (i.e. turbo timer, or even an alarm with the option)?
Cant believe im still a member here.

sounds like remote engine starting to me. we get cars like that through work all the time. you turn the car off but it keeps running for a minute or so,even if the remote has been lost or whatever. check under the dash for a box abou the size of a turbo timer with several switches on it.

in theory atleast, it isn't a bad thing... just kinda stupid.

I mean it will still flow the oil round and might cool it somewhat, but I'd imagine that it would do bugger all...

Now if they also had an oil cooler with a fan, it would cool it, but I still can't think of why you would do it(turbo timer) in an NA car.
