Blacktop injector help - quick one

Postby Ako » Wed Dec 28, 2005 5:28 pm

Yes I did a search, no it wasn't much help and I wasted half an hour.

I need to know what config the injectors from a 97, blacktop 4AGE will be. I've established they're low impedance, side feed - but what are they interchangeable with? Funnily enough the 4AGE isn't the most common car to be cranking the fuelling on, so all my injector catalogues cover 3SGTE, 2JZ etc, not the midget engine. Just need to know so I dont go sending someone the wrong injectors by accident.

Cheers team :)

well I know silvertops are interchangable with 3S-GTE/2JZ side feeds, but don't know about the black tops. Probably a good chance they're the same, but I can't say for sure :)

The way you've posed the question is kinda confusing...you're asking what configuration they are then answering it in the next line :?
People seem to use the Gen 2 3SGTE injectors as an upgrade for 20v turbos though.

No no, I mean I know what config they are - BUT I need to know what they can be interchanged with. Just "side feed low impedance" isn't enough, some injectors need fitting collars when going to sard injectors. The silvertop, yeah no worries, but I don't know if the blacktop is any different or not, and can't find the info online myself anywhere.

i would bet they are the same fitment as the silvertop ones. toyota is pretty good like that.
theres a few parts on those T/Bs that are the same.

i think the only way to comfirm is to do some bonnet lifting

not to be confused with shirt lifting

but i would be very suprised if they were different

Blacktop and silvertop injectors are identical. Rated 295cc flowed 315cc / min injectors. Your pulling some serious HP in order to need to replace them. Or if your ricing your vehicle by fitting larger injectors, expect to loose HP throughout the curve.

Ricing the vehicle / fitting a T28 to it, either or aye

Cheers for that though, much appreciated.

You should easily pull 210hp from the black/silvertop injectors in a NA situation. Turbo won't support that much as the BSFC's worse.
