AE92/82 gearbox mounts. bolting e58 s/c box into ae82 fxgt

Postby crispy'86 » Mon Jan 30, 2006 9:34 pm

Has anyone done this before??
What i'm doing is using the above box from ae92 s/c trueno and the front mount looks to be the same as ae82 fxgt, I am thinking i'll need to use the ae92 side mount for gearbox the gearbox mount and the rubber mount and rear mount too. or alternatively something else that fits into the ae82 crossmember and bolts up to the ae92 s/c box mount.
All help much appreciated people :D

hey dude , the box will go in , u will have to use the front engine mount off the ae82 , the side mount off the ae92 gearbox and u will have to fabricate an engine mount for the rear as neither will fit 8)
also with the side mount on the gearbox u will have to slot the holes bout 7 mm 8)
if u want anymore help let me know as i have done this :D

don't suppose you have the ae92 mount?? Now do you mean the gtz mount off the box or a normal ae92 fxgt mount?? Cause when i tried it the gtz rubber mount is too wide and i don't really want to take material off where the bolt goes through.

Also i'll be looking at using the GTZ ae92 hubs and struts on the fxgt so would i need to shorten the axles and everything, Just change the tops of the struts for the ae82 fxgt ones would be alright by the measurement side of things
