AE101 Trueno or Levin?

Postby Jaeger » Wed Feb 08, 2006 5:08 pm

Hi there all, i was wondering if you could advise me on this problem I have. I have a 1991 AE101 Trueno, and have been told that the Levin parts bolt on to this no problem, as I have pranged my Trueno and need a new front end, and can seem to find Levin parts no problem but can’t find Trueno parts at any reasonable prices. Any information would be great.

The main parts I am looking at are, Bonnet, Front L Guard, Front bumper assembly, headlights, Front bar (where radiators bolt on).

Many Thanx

Bonnet, headlamps, corner lamps, guards, bumper, bumper support rail are all different. And of course grille - which the Trueno doesn't have.
We've never tried to swap an entire front over but while it may be possible I would think that you'd be better off perservering looking for the Trueno parts.
I believe we have some headlamps here.

So i would be unable to mount a Levin front on the Trueno frame then?

Jaeger, I can't tell you that. As I said, we've never tried it. Some others may have and may know more.
But it'll only take a couple of frame parts to be different to make it a difficult conversion.

The clips are different and the framing is slightly different, if you knew what you were doing you could modify it, but for the sake of structural integrity and knowing your car is safe, it would be easier to just source the trueno parts.
