Removing Injectors

Postby ollieboy » Thu Feb 23, 2006 4:28 pm

I found a place that cleans injectors for real cheap so I decided I should take mine along.

The problem I face now is whether I should remove them myself or get the guy there to do it. If I get him to do it then it will cost lots so I am considering doing it myself.

What I want to know is: Is it easy to remove the injectors? How long will it take, skill level needed etc. If you could help me out that would be cool.

Also, anyone got pics of what they look like and how to get them out if you think I should do it.

Why waste your time/money? Wont help them at all unless theyre playing up, and since theyve never been out of your car and its not particularly old, you may as well piss your money away.

If youre heart set on pulling them out, unplug them, undo the fuel rail and ull them out, will take all of 10 minutes. Oh and beware of the fuel pressure

Yeah they are playing up, I wouldn't get them done otherwise, they make tappping sounds and are just running really crappy, The fuel filters all gunged up so my guess is the last owner never changed the filter and all the crap went into the injectors and blocked them partially or something.

So is this what you mean, the red arrow is pointing to the fuel rail? And the circled bits are the injectors yeah?

ollie

And when you say beware of the fuel pressure do you mean it will spray out everywhere?

cool, well that saves me about $80 according to the guy (bloody ripoff) But the injectors are only $20 each to clean so I'm not complaining.
