AE92 GTZ brakes are exactly the same as AE101 4AGE non SS, so it is straight bolt on, in most cases the rotor diameter is the same (254mm) but on ae101 20v/ae92 gtz disks are fatter (18mm vs 22mm) than AE10X low grade corolla (FE), no need to use the hubs, brakes should bolt on to your original, but might be GTZ/20v hubs have bigger bearings (which I'm not entirely sure).
Don't know about bonnets...

thanks mate someone said something about : i had to use gtz hubs because the la=sd halfshafts only bolt into these hubs, fact or fiction

i know i should just trial and error all this shit but im a student and i need my car to get to uni, so the less time it is sittin on blocks/ with no engine / or no bonet for that matter, the more time ill be working for my degree.

as far as I'm aware All AE FWD shafts have same hub spline.
I had AE82 shaft on my AE101 (as temp measure).
We also had AE82 with AE111 shafts in it (blacktop conversion).
We swapped AE92 shafts with AE101 GTZ shafts (along with gearbox), no problem.

ay sweet thanks that clears up alot of issues.

so i was thinking of tryna do it in blocks.
1st wknd - conversion to 4 wheel disks, change bias valve and handbrake, anythingelse?

so i will put the gtz hubs on to my 4afe shafts.

then 2nd wknd will be bonnet, tacho, exhaust, boost gauge modifying back bumper for exhaust.

then 3rd weekend will be engine, driveline, fuel system, ecu and loom removal and transplant. will prob take longer than a weeknd. :P then ill do all the filters, cahnge oil, new sparks and leads and cambelt.

btw the wagon runs on 91, the ze will odviously be on 98

will it just be sweet to just fill it up with 98 when its done or do i have to drain it out of 91?

It will be fine with a bit of 91 in it, just fill it up with 98 from now on, if its mostly 98 it will be fine, probally only drop the octance rating down to 97 if that.

Good luck with the conversion, take pics as you go along so we can all see what it looks like.

Oh & dont forget the cert you might need for the new engine etc

As long as it has ventilated front discs you shouldn't have a problem getting a cert, The certifier said there wouldn't be any problems and that was with a 3s-gte in a st171 corona.

Don't expect any performance out of 91, gze's are stuttery and poos on 91.

I suggest changing the engine first, get the major bit out of the way.

And find a car to borrow cos you may not finish. There's always the bus though.

I thought there was the whole 10% increase in engine power rule?

Maybe im forgetting something, but im sure it was if its over a 10% in power or a engine that didnt come out on the model if over 10% then it had to be certed.

Maybe your certifier, thought celicas came out with 3sgte's in later years so it was ok not to cert?

But then again maybe the certifier might think the same with bluemaumau's conversion.

Im sure someone more knowledgeabl such as matt dunn might have an idea.

I think the bonnets might be slightly different between models. & beside im sure a standard wagon bonnet will be easier & cheaper to come across at a wreckers than a gtz bonnet which is what im guessing your after?
Have you thought about going with a front mount & keeping the standard bonnet & having a sleeper of a wagon? i think someone else has done a gtz into a wagon on here before

I think he was more meaning it wouldnt have a problem being certed as it had reasonable brakes as is.

Ops, my bad  thanks for the clear up there mmm boost.

yeah if you have a set of gt apex levin brakes they should be fine, maybe put a decent set of mintex or trd or simillar pads in there, will make it stop on a dime & the certifier will have no problems giving you the ok.

Have you talked to a certifier yet about your plans? Might save hassles in the long run, cause doing things twice is a bitch.

What ecu are you going to run on it?
