I remember a while ago Matt D said there was two sizes- mostly the big one, but the later small port had a smaller one I think.

20 valves have a similar size, if not slightly smaller. However the mounts are totally different.

OK thanks.

I was going to use my exsisting housing and mounts, and just try find a physically smaller motor.

there are three types that fit,

the common 4age one,
tand the smaller and more powerful planetry gear reduction one found on the smallport n/a's.

There is also another gear reduction type like found on the fwd 3sge's that will fit, but unsure what engine it comes from in factory form.

So it sounds like the one you have is the smallest unless you make something.

Yes I have used a 3S started on my mates 4age, worked sweet as.

I was going to thread the other side of the bell housing and stick it there, but the external oil drain is there.

Im going to have a pick-a-part hunt, will let yous know if I find anything

the 3T reduction are also quite small, i think they could have the same solenoid and windings as a redtop and 1G
