Exhaust manifold torque setting?

I'm installing another stud in my turbo manifold tomorrow so I will need to re-torque all the nuts correctly - can someone tell me the torque setting for doing up exhaust manifold nuts on a 3SGTE?

make sure the stud is all the way in first, and re-torque after a few heat cycles.

Best to lower the torque setting by a tiny bit.

First hand experience with Aluminium heads..........
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

just retension them again after it has cooled to prevent gasket failure. Youll find they will come up quite a bit...

When you put the new stud in thread it in by hand as much as you can before using a tool... it can be easy to crossthread stud bolts into an alumnium head... then you would need a helicoil.

Why on earth would you want to lower the manufacturers recommendations, that's just stupid, however I would suggest reading Kinloud's excellent advice.

I guess your "experience" with Aluminium heads is that it's easy to cross thread the stud if you don't know what you are doing, then you just (wrongly) blame the manufacturers (correct) torque settings for your ineptitude :roll:

Well, maybe you would love to stick to the manufacturer's specs. I'm sure it's better to risk stripping a thread in the alloy head (let it be aging on the head, or dodgey torque wrench that you've bought, or maybe fivebob has rain down his unlucky enchantments on you), than found out you have an exhaust leak and retorque with a higher setting later on.
