Radiator for 3tgte?

Ok almost got everything to put a 3tgte into my 79 corona wagon with standard 3t in it. Ok am i gone to need a bigger radiator? I mean the standard one is for a 1800 too but with more power comes more heat right. If i need a bigger radiator what would be best, is there one that will bolt straight in?

have you compared the factory 3T Corona radiator with the factory 3TGTCelica unit??? whilst the turbo one is aliminium, it is very thin and may only be single core, so i would guess that the factory copper 2-3 core unit would have a similar ability.

Just a side note, have you noticed that the oil return from the turbo to the sump goes down through the engine mount.
A friend and I fitted one to a SR running a 3T and ran into afew issues as factory 3T-GTEU cars use a different mount.
Thought I'd mention it just in case..
As for radiator, I think it will be fine, especially for normal driving. Get an electric fan off a starly hooked up to it if it overheats.

The standard 3tgteu radiator is single core and has plastic top and bottom tanks. your standard 3t one would do a better job. keep the fan shroud on it if you can.

Cheers guys, nah i havnt seen a factory 3tgte radiator. Im gona have to change the fan to an electric right?

Im alittle confused, yes i have noticed the oil return line running thru the mount. Cant i just use the engine mounts from the 3tgte? Im away from where my engine and the car is at, at the moment so i cant go have a look at it for afew weeks. How did you solve this problem?

3tgt mounts are wider to allow for the oil return. They won’t fit the standard cross member. You can modify the oil return to fit the standard one but its a bit of a mission

I swapped to a T3 turbo and made a custom oil return
I would take some photos but it’s a bit hard to get a decent angle at the oil return

Ok well i do have a manifold for a T3 and i dont have a standard turbo so i was planing to use the T3 from the begining. If anyone else has a photo of their custom oil return illd love to see it.
