ST165 - 6 or 8 holes

Postby GT4 20 » Fri Apr 21, 2006 10:35 pm

Just trying to help out with a thread on another forum.
I was under the impression when I was searching for a crank for my 3SGTE rebuild that the ST16X used 6 bolts to fix the flywheel to the crank, whereas the ST18X and ST20X uses 8. Anyone shed some light on this please?

as far as I'm aware all 3SGTE have 8 bolts (1st gen smaller).
only some (very rare) 1st gen 3SGE have 6 bolts.

From memory the difference with the ST165 crank is that the holes are on a slightly smaller PCD. What's my memory worth though!

the st16# crank is a different p/n from the later st18# series.

all cranks from st18# series on (3sge and 3sgte) have the same p/n
