ae111 burning rich

Postby clutch_cargo » Thu May 11, 2006 5:14 pm

hi i have an ae111 blacktop bzg 6 speed levin (1998)and recently i installed a wideband o2 sensor to get an idea of how my air fuel ratios are burning and i discovered im running rich

i get a 14.7-14.8 burn at idle which i believe is stoich but when i drive between 2 and 5k its 13.2, full throtle above 6k im at 12.6 and right b4 redline the wideband meter is saying 11.8

i have a greddy emanage installed and i would like to reduce the fuel from 6-8000 rpm full throttle to around 13.6

my questions
1. is 13.6 a safe a/r reading?
2. when i alter the airflow voltage at those parameeters will it advance my timing significantly? im thinking about a -40 on the airflow map on the greddy
3. what is the maximum timing advance on the ae111 4age blacktop?
4. shud i see an improvement in acceleration by slightly leaning out the mixture?

let me jus add what has been done to the car

short ram setup with an apexi power intake filter
imec throttle trumpets
jasma certified apexi exhaust manifold with 2.25" piping going into a apexi barrel tailpipe.(no cat 1 resonator)
toda flywheel
trd clutch and pressure plate

what rpm range is the intake set up for?

before making tuning alterations check things like efi water temp sensor and 02 sensor
you maybe tuning to fix a faulty component.

but yes, 20vs are known to be rich in the top end.
before i fitted my sard ecu you could see the black smoke from my ae101 at high rpm and full load. with the sard theres a lot less smoke and a heap more power

bridged te1 and e1 and it shows no faulty sensors

driveability is fine, i do get that black smoke at high revs tho

car is running really rich and i think leaning it out a bit would net me a couple of hp

anyone else here using a greddy? and any one here familiar with tuning the ae111?
