SC14 on 4agze

Postby beeker » Sun May 14, 2006 2:05 pm

What would a 4agze with a SC14 develop ?
How many people have done this ?
Is there a proven process for this ?

I have an sc14 on my rolla... what sorta stuff do you want to know? It's yet to see a dyno but goes a lot better than the sc12 and makes very strong power till it hits the limiter hard. Add me to msn if you want.
When in doubt, down and out.

When will you put it on the dyno ? I'll be VERY interested to see that chart. How many hours to make the mod ? Did you essentually bolt off bolt on or was there more too it ?

The sc14 fits on the lower mount with a washer as a spacer. I have an sc12 pulley modified to fit on the sc14 shaft with a spacer to put the pulley inline with the rest of the pulleys. A top mount has to be made up to to hold the blower in place because it sits out further than an sc12 due to its size. Piping has to be modified. It's not straight bolt on, but with the charger mounted at the bottom you could mock up your pipes and top bracket. You have your gze in an '85 or '86 aye?? That should give you some more room to work with. I can fit my charger down into my ae91's engine bay with the motor in place but fabrication would be hard. Have a talk to bazda coz he and Fred put my kit together for freds car.

Bazda, do you have a SC14 setup yourself ? I would love to look at someones to get a overview of what work is required and also what the result is like. Its either this or a turbo setup. If the SC14 is a quick and dirty way of getting some extra hp and maintaining the same throttle response compared with the cost of doing a 'proper' turbo setup, then i may consider it.

I want throttle response and minimal lag, as much as an HP increase. Extended WOT reliability is also key. I wont do it next late late this year, but just figuring out the plan.
