levin starting

Postby stevescale » Mon May 22, 2006 10:54 pm

Hi
I am in the process of dismantling an accident damaged 20v levin. I want to run the engine before taking it out of the car.
There is plenty of spark, the engine turns freely and almost "catches", the alarm has been disarmed, the efi fuses are all ok - how can I check the fuel pump is delivering fuel? Thanks in advance. Steve

Take the return line off the fuel rail and turn the key on or crank it and see if any fuel comes out.

Chances are that if its firing then you're getting some fuel through

Is there fuel on the spark plugs after cranking for a bit? ie are they wet or dry?

The plugs smell of fuel but are not wet - that leads me to think the injectors are not opening so maybe the ecu?
