Any Good Wreckers Around???????

Postby Mr-Hiney » Thu Jun 08, 2006 1:53 pm

Hey all,

i have decided (with some definate assistance from the masterminds that are on this site) that i will eb doing a 4AGE to 4AGZE transfer and need to know if anyone knows of or have used any wreckers that were top knotch.

i basically need an entire "front cut", engine, loom, mounts everything.

if anyone knows of some peeps or can tell me someone who would, then flick me a PM or something. im sure there could be a box of beer for someone that helps.

cheers all...

I have only ever dealt with one really good wrecker in my life and that was New Zealand Car Parts. I'm pretty sure they have a branch in Auckland too.

turning a GTAPEX one into a GTZ one is actually a major pita.....
better off to spend the time and money on turboing it.

or s/c the 20v with a custom setup

the wiring loom in the car is completely different and is not easy to sort out.
if you just want a GTZ ae101 then its best to buy one

if you want something a bit more special than carry on

Being someone that has done a 4age to 4agze converison in a ae101.

DON'T.

Listen to everyone, I ignored them, thought that I knew what I was doing...

lol...

I would have saved about 2-3k if I had turboed my silvertop... (did the converison, and then turboed it, and then linked it.).

The hardest part will be the joining of the body loom to the 4agze ecu engine loom. Becuase those plugs are not labelled anyway on the internet.

Its not a fun converison (or cheap if you paying someone, its going to take time).

My $2 :)

Its not that hard to mesh looms imo

Just need pin outs on both the ecus, both looms then a basic know how on electrics.

It just takes AGES, thats all

Lets make it really clear mate.

Ae101's sell for about 2500-3500 depending on condition.

IF yours is worth converting, it will be about 3000ish

A mint ae101 gtz is about 6g, and an average one is about 3500 (thats what grotty sold his for)

SO, in conclusion. your car, plus 2k for the engine set up, plus 1000 in labour min, plus 500 for cert, will cost about 6500 all up, and still not have the little things a gtz has, ie bonnet etc

and if you sell your car, and put in 1000, youll have a GTZ like that.

Dont be stupid, sell your car, and buy another one

Hell for 8k, you can buy a 4agte gtz with 200kw!

Yea, putting a 4AGZE in is hard, as people have said.

XS1V put one in his AE101, and it wasn't easy. And he DOES know what he's doing!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Ummm wtf?
http://www.turbocorolla.com/tech/default.htm

You can get ae92, ae101 and aw11 4agze pin outs and wiring diagrams from club4ag. Just not the PITA AFM with DLI 4agze which remains a mystery.

Unless he has a 4afe/5afe or desiel in which case hes doomed  (well not fully)

Ive done a full 4agze wiring job into my brothers lada, that was a pain in the arse, but doable. He has the afm with DLI and I just guessed common colours from other diagrams and plug types. We started with a complete loom so it was a little easier.

Ive also meshed a ae101 4agze into my ae92 loom which was a piece of piss.

Anyway there are much easier and better ways of being turbo powered than buying a 4agze, just have a search around, a few people have turbo'd there 4afe/5afe powered cars on very low budgets. Just do a little more research.
