Accerator hard to push in AE101 suddenly....

Postby DB4G63 » Sun Jun 11, 2006 3:35 pm

Im not sure if this is a big problem or not but it is certainly making the car very hard to park and do hill starts in effectively...

The accelerator is hard to push to start with, but suddenly becomes easy after about the first 15% of the peddle. however it feels like it isnt going to move until I give it decent force..... which means you have to push harder than normal

It only began happening today, and its very noticable.
What would suddent make this happen? Can it be adjusted?

Im not sure whats going on here :?

Have a look at the throttle cable in the engine bay, may be snagged slightly, maybe a bit of greese on it? who knows, but there must be a reason

also have you done any work around the throttle area?

cable might be on the way out, may be frayed or similar.

also check around your pedal and the cable housing, may be catching on something?

Open your throttle body , and clean around where the butterfly for the throttle is as this gets cloged up and makes it stick sometimes
