Can you provide the gearbox number? (on the plate of firewall).

And on mods... Do a search man...

Basic things, intake and CAI. Then it depends on hoe much money and what you want.

Best idea would be to swap it for a 3sgte.

Okay, I humbly stand corrected.

You may, or may not have a factory LSD.

Theres not REALLY that much you can do thats bolt on sort of stuff.

Extracting performance from an N/A engine is expensive.

For starters, you may want to do a pod filter, but make sure you get a cold air box to go with it with something feeding air to it. Pod filters are usually negated by the fact that you're sucking in warm air from the engine bay.

Next would be an exhaust system. Nothing too big. 2.25 inches at the end of the system would be alright if you weren't looking to totally rob your bottom RPM range of power.

After that, you'd want to start looking at getting some cams, as well as maybe getting the ports polished. Probably don't get it ported, as they would flow enough as it is, just smooth them out to make the flow smoother.
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Currens arent the lightest cars ever.....

Losing some weight from it will probalby benefit you more than gaining hp, but either way you end up making the car less drivable, or more annoying in some way.

Ditch the aircon
Get decent tires (Such an under rated performance mod IMO... I'd rather spend $1000 on tires, than $1000 on mags)
Take as much crap out of the car as you dont mind losing
go for a run on a tread mill. :P

Do the basic maintenance items, change the oil & filters, etc.
Make sure you're not losing power, before you try to make more.
Sometimes it's amazing what replacing the airfilter will do, if it's old.

Intake + headers + exhaust may or may not give improvements, but anything more than that, and things start getting very expensive, for not much gains.

legend

Weight reduction and a filter, gut the cat run it on 98 and start saving for a 3sgte... oh... and learn to drive  I've had a lot of success against turbo cars with that one

Please don't ruin another car with a huge exhaust tip.

lol yeah that ute was alot of fun..
Umm... 3sgte is basicly just a 3sge with turbo on rite? same internals?
as for weight redction, its pretty basic, not gona put in any heavy subs or shyte like that.

as for a big muffler tip.. whats the point of having one thats HUGE anyway? just makes it look silly :)

3SGTE is the turbo 3S engine, however the internals are different. The pistons are forged to withstand the boost as well as the rods. Compresion ratio is also lower.
