CAMS/ ADJUSTABLE CAM GEARS

Postby FYADUP » Wed Jun 21, 2006 1:16 am

Cant find 20 valve cams or cam gears as the 20 valve has VVTI

Was wondering if aftermarket 16v cams fit in a 20 valve head and can you use 16v adjustable cam gears if you get rid of vvti, then wouldnt it be the same?

I'm not sure for cam gears (might fit on the exhaust side) but defenetly 16v cams will not fit in 20v head.
You can get TODA cams/cam gears for 20v no problem.

Exhaust side cam gear is different. However there was someone on trademe able to do a 20 valve intake side vernier. Exhaust is 16 valve. There is also some Japanese brands that do 20 valve verniers. CSL, Kelford do.

Most, if not all NZ cam suppliers, and all the major brand Jap, do 20 valve cams.
The answer is Helmholtz!
