My g/f has a KP61 and her horns are going a bit funny, she went for a warrant and the horns wont work unless the steering wheel is at full lock either direction.
How do we get the steering wheel off ?
Does anyone have an idea of this ?

To get the wheel off just takes solid wrestling.
Your horn problem, its' the contact on the steering wheel, you'll see when you pull it off, a little brass pokie-thing with a spring around it, that pushes itself constantly against the metal ring behind the steering wheel. On tired KPs, the contact gets worn down, to the point where it doesn't have enough reach, and collects grease and fluff, and only intermittently contacts the ring.. ie, when you turn the steering wheel to a certain angle, where it gets the best contact.
How to fix? On both my KPs, I just got a blob of solder, and soldered it onto the contact. This gives it another 2-3mm of reach, and binds the spring up to force it harder onto the ring. Problem solved!
