Clutch for much??

Postby femaleshopper » Mon Jun 26, 2006 11:19 am

Hey Guys

I am wanting to get a new clutch. But can't decide between a normal versus a heavy duty clutch. Does the latter last longer??

What would the difference in price be, and do you recommend anyone to do this??

I am in Wellington.

Thanks for your help in advance

What type of car is it, whats it used for, how do you drive? and because it was such a brief post im gunna go right ahead and assume that since youre a girl you drive like a girl so stock will be fine.

Both of them once installed with normal driving will last laonger than youre likely to keep the car, however heavy duty will wear down the rest of the driveline.

Cant give an idea on price till you tell us what kind of car it is.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am a guy.

Its a 88 GTI corolla. I like to drive it hard sometimes, so was just wondering between the two.

Exedy make a kit for around $250 which is about 17% heavier than a stock one.

Or go standard and will get a kit from from anywhere above $100 for a shitter. Either way it doesnt really matter, standard will be fine as it sounds like the car is stock and doesnt get a hard time. If it was me in your situation id go with standard.

Sorry bout the gender mix up, but I suppose you get that alot :P
