how do i remove this sump thing - 4agze

well im hoping to get some pistons out tonight and stuff... got the sump off... then i found this in the way....



can i remove this? do i have to angle grind it off? or just work around it? pain in the ass little piece of metal

all help seriously appreciated, the haynes manual(for a aw11) doesnt show this part

Should just come off. Get the pickup out of the way and go from there. Should come off easy enough

just pull it off, its probably only held on by some sealant, get a flathead screwdriver under it if you have to, every 4age i've pulled apart its just come off easily

like HRT said, get the pickup out the way first

remove the oil pickup, slide a spatula between the metal plate and the block and after you have slid the spatula all the way around pull it of. Becareful not to bend the flange as this will cause leaks when you reinstall...

kinda carefully managed to pull it, its too late pull pistons tomorrow and get block to machine shop
