6sp to replace 5sp in 89 GLX

Will a 6sp trans from a Blacktop engine fit my 4A-F engine to replace its 5sp trans.?
Old enough to know better. Still young enough to do it anyway!!

its c series so it shouldnt be too much of a mission

should just plug in, if its cable drive swap the drive over

They use different left mount to "normal" C series gearbox, you will need to butcher mount support plate (cut,bend,drill) to use your mount.
Also you might have problems with gear shifter as with 6 speed you need more left to right movement (nothing a file cant fix).
The speed sensor/cable thing should bolt on, the reverse switch might use different plug, but thats not major, starter mounting might be a problem (although I can't remember if it has space for both locations or not)
