Engine Fan

How would i go about setting up a switch so that i could turn the engine fan on manually?

well just something fancy i can play with :P just noticed that it was very hot under my bonnet this arvo (hot as day in chch). also doesnt a cooler engine go a bit better??

Optimum temperature is better than cooler I believe 8) , I'd let it do its job :P

there is a temp sensor near the thermostat with one small wire onit, un clip that plug the fan will go, my guess... put a switch on that wire

yea except it would be nice if i could find a wire on the other side of the firewall :( that wire looks like it runs into the distributor :?:

Ummm not really, if you unplug it the fan will always be running, but to wire it to a switch you need to wire it up through a relay so you dont set your car on fire...

PM me if you want a proper explanation of how to do it, but honestly its a waste of time, your fan will turn on when the car needs it cos thats what it was designed for...

No need to mess with something thats working...

that wire going to the temp sensor already runs onto a relay in the engine bay... Take note of how thin it is ;)
also you wont be able to control it with out feeding wires into the engine bay its all controled by the temp sensor, efi relay and fan relay.

If you have working thermostat, how cold the radiator is will play little effect on the engine temperature. So turning on the fan all the time will do little.
Actually I have a solution for you - just put the damn heater on hot and heater fan on full, this will have more effect than turning radiator fan all the time ;) :lol:
