best muffler for smallport

Postby panda_dan » Mon Oct 16, 2006 2:08 pm

I am putting a smallport 4age in my ae85

I have some nice headers and im going to run 2.25" piping right through

Just wondering what brands of mufflers suit the smallport the best without giving that terrible raspy bumble bee sound on acceleration. Im not concerned about how it looks really.

There's quite a selection of N1 / straight cut mufflers on Trademe but no-one makes them with a 2.25" inlet.

Anyone have good / bad experiences?

Any help appreciated. Cheers - Danny

From what i know, it is determined by 2 things

1 - The quality of the material used when packing the baffles

2- The quantity and density of the packing itself

Better quality packing = smoother deeper sound.
