hey im in the process of making some improvements to my celica and i was wondering are there any aftermarket brake upgrade kits or if there are some later modle discs/ calipers that fit on without any mods.

Hi,
Not many TA22 owners in chch. I also have one in the shed and im in chch.
The easiest brake upgrade i rekcon is cressida struts, or ae86 struts, pretty much a bolt in which gives you good sized vented discs.
