20v quad throttles on bluetop 4age

Postby .:O4AGTZ:. » Tue Oct 24, 2006 12:47 am

Hey was wondering if putting the quad throttles off a 20v would be a good upgrade on a bluetop engine. What does the upgrade involve? What would i get out of it? and would the blacktop or silvertop quad throttles be better? cheers ppl

Aftermarket computer and tuning is required to ensure proper running of the ITB on the 16v as the vacumm signal is spiky and does not go as negative as the plenum setup.

yep, you need a manifold to suit, and you need to run an aftermarket computer

so be prepared to spend some good coin

quads give roughly a 15% hp gain on 16v engines

blacktop ones are slightly bigger so will be touch bit better, but not really worth the extra money people ask for them

Yeah jase, its a bit of a mish aye. Youll need a link or megasquirt.

Ae85coupe is right again!

Your looking at 50 fof the throttles, then 420 for the mani, then 500 for a link, youll be better running some stock rwd 4age headers, 2.25 inch exhaust, a resonator and a muffler, then a good cold air system.

Or turbo it, ill make you a manifold cheap cheap, and boost it uppppppppp

ummm how long is a piece of string?

depends on what tools you have access to, if you have any knowledge of basic fabrication work

then you could probably do it yourself

but i would not call it easy
