Oversized pistons

Postby TRD_ZERO » Sat Oct 28, 2006 4:15 pm

Can you get oversized GZE pistons From toyota? And if you can, obviously have to bore the cylinders out. What does the cc rating go up to? Is it worth all the trouble and approximatly how much would it cost to get it bored out? All input appreciated..............constructive input that is.

Depends entirely what engine its for, how far oversize you want to go and who you get the do the work. Details help

Edit - Oops, missed that you said GZE. I know you can get them 0.5mm oversize as I had some in mine. Not entirely certain if they do other sizes but if Toyota dont stock them then someone else should be able to get you some aftermarket. Bore may depend on how far oversize you wish to go

Yes, you can get oversize gze pistons, up to 0.5mm over.

Factory bore: 1587cc
0.5mm oversize: 1607cc

It cost me just under $200 to get the block bored and honed.

I have a set of Brand New Unopened toyota GZE oversize pistons and rings,
and a Block that has been bored out to suit them.

Pistons are 0.5mm o/s and 8.9:1 AE101 GZE,
and the block is an AE101 GZE also so has the inlet for the external oil drain from the head etc etc.

I may not use it now, as the block doesn't fit my 20V sump's,
and may go for some different pistons etc.

PM me if your keen.

Matt
