What is the redline for a 5MGEU?
I can rev quite happly to over 8500RPM i think thats a bit high, can I install a rev limiter??

No seriously, id say you rev limit should be around 6.5....

Yea I think its a bit high, think is the last thing im doing when thrashing up a hill is looking at my revs

The problem might be that you are using 4cyl tacho on a 6 cyl in this case 9krpm is really 6krpm..

Nope thats not it, My standard one wad a diesel so I had to get an aftermarket one, its set on 6cyl.
