Altezza oil pressure

Postby sk1dlet » Sun Nov 12, 2006 12:26 pm

hey people i have recently noticed that the oil pressure in my 98 rs200 has been fluctuating, i am unsure weather it's meant to do this or not as i have never noticed it before. it only seems to drop down to about quarter on the gauge when just stitting at intersections idling then soon as i take of it climbs back up to 3/4 where it normally would.
cud someone please inform me if this is ok or am i going to experience problems

cheers
Dylan

prefectly normal, oil pressure guages would be one of the worst guages to have, causes unnecessary worries.

if you REALLY want to know, go buy an after market accurate gauge with an accurate sender.

My tezza does that too.
(i could be wrong but......)
I always thought it was because oil pressure doesnt need to be as high when your idling as things arent happening too fast, when you've got some revs up its a bit more important to have a bit more oil up and around the place.

If you sit at about 7000rpm down a hill or something for 10secs or so it will drop to half.
