Postby bluemaumau » Sat Jan 06, 2007 6:40 pm

ok so today i put my bluetop cams into the bigport gze.

i aligned evrything at TDC, however now the cam wheels markings are about a cm off the marking on the backing plate, wtf!

im using the gze cam wheels, is that my problem? if not wtf is, and how do i fix it?

on 4ages...
Do you have the cam covers on?
Because if you do you can line up the cam to tdc...

Or roughly (looking at the camwheel) put the pin on the intake at 12 and on the exhaust put the pin at 5...backing plate doesnt matter

hmm, i put the exhaust gze cam back in to see if it was just the different cam, but its not, the gze cam is also a cm off!

so i guess that means its moved. $&#$%

so whats my plan of attack now that this has happened?

 :?

sup, you got a photo of it?

i think from reading it, have you tried putting the cam wheels on opposite cams? can't quite remember if they were the same.

other thing is when you put the cam belt on, they may have moved?

or possibly 180deg out, (doubt would be this, sounds like you've just lifted old out, and put new ones in)

also have you checked all your clearances?

if you turn the cam to where it lines up on the backing plate, and let it go, does it turn by itself to the point where it sits 1cm away?

if everything else you have done is correct, then just move it to the point when you put the cam belt on,

remember the bluetop cams will hold the valves open or closed at different point to the std cams, so that risisstance will be that.

true, its pretty tight, like i need to apply abit of pressure to get it to the point,

owell ill do that.

the nexty step is to belt it up and turn it over by hand to make sure nothing collides, correct?
