Anyone know if turning the distributor clockwise advances or retards the timing?
Summary of story... Accidentally loosened the bolts on the altenator and there are two positions it has obviously been positioned in in the past so im trying to figure out which is right...

Oh well IIRC clockwise advances and anticlock wise retards, but because of really bad memory I highly suggest you use a timing light because 3 degrees will make a big difference.
You can come over on thursday if you want... it'll take all of 2 minutes to do
