Gen2 3sgte Injectors

Postby solitaire » Wed Jan 17, 2007 10:57 am

Hi,

I have searched, everything seem to cover using 3sgte injectors in other engines so here i am. - my apologies if i missed a thread that has that information :(

I have a gen2 3sgte, can i simply plug in later gen injectors and it will richen the micture a little or do i need an aftermarket computer?

Reason im asking is i will probably end up using them eventually... thought i may as well do it now if i can...

why do u want it richer?????

how much bigger are the later ones your looking at ?

after market ECU is normal needed with bigger injectors unless your running lean & can calacute the size you need to go up exactly

have you seen the therid on injector enlargeing if its just a slight bit it might be what you want

Well shes running at about 12a/f and i would prefer it sat on 11.

The injectors in it are 440cc and the ones in the later gens are 550cc...

Id prefer not to mess with the existing ones as that would be extra expense... i will go to 550cc eventualy once i have a link (later this year)

So basically the injectors will squirt roughly 25% more fuel in each time it fires right?

well thats all fair a nuf then yes the new injectors will run about 125% give or take a bit

witch you may find a bit ritch id say it woul came out about 10 ish but i dont know your ECU well anuf to grantee that as you may find that you O2 sensour may adjust for that & as to were that leaves it who would know well not me any way as im unsure on how much the O2 sensour on that ECU will adjust i gess the best way then is to try & see unless you can find some one alse thats tryed that & knows

Compatible injectors are USDM 540cc or Gen 3 3S-GTE 540cc.

You'll need ECU to tune them, or else you won't build boost (1st hand experience.... car just backfires and misfire)
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

O2 sensor will do nothing above about 2500rpm, or 50Kpa. It's only there to adjust idle and off boost low rpms, same as most Toyota ECUs of the vintage. Even then it's won't adjust by much anyway, certainly not enough to compensate for 25% larger injectors

The engine will run way too rich with 540's unless you run an aftermarket ECU, or something like a SAFC which is a VERY bad idea as it will advance the ignition curve to the point of desstruction on a 3S-GTE :(
