Hello most knowledgeable (<-- spelling???) people of toyota. I have a AE111 trueno, and yesterday i think i broke a drive shaft but im not sure. i have not steering and whenever i turn the wheel i hear the most horrible crunching. i can see what part is broke but want some pictures of the underbody of the car to check and make sure. Surley someone on this board can help the not so knowledgeable me by posting up something or know a link to something that can help. im one of the not so good with computer people so please dont ask me to post a pic or try to describe it

if you jack up the front can you turn one of the front wheels? and if you can does the other side follow?

ok, iv tried to explain it to someone and they think its a drive shaft too. i have no drive what so ever, i put it into gear but have nothing after that, i cant move, it clunks and screeches.

1. This thread probably would serve it's purpose better in the Tech Section.

2. It's hard to diagnose a problem without knowing/being able to see where exactly it is.

3. All you are going to get is 'I think' or 'it sounds like' answers.

I'm not a grumpy old bastard just explaining that we can't really diagnose a problem without someone being able to properly describe it or provide pictures. If you can see what part is broke then take a picture and post it up. We can help you post it up if you don't know how.

If your knowledge of cars etc is not that good then I would suggest taking it in to a mechanic to have a look so they can tell exactly what needs to be repaired and provide you with a quote to do so. Otherwise I'm sure there's someone from here in your area willing to come have a look for a box of beers or something.

not the easiest thing to do without drive.

I use a mechanic (when I cant fix something myself) called Car Tune, they come to you and can sort you out, normal mechanic costs, but i've been using him for years and hes a good guy. He does have a workshop in town too tho.

thanks for the help guys, i did end up towing it to a mechanics just around from work and i had managed to totally destroy my cv joint. they couldnt understand how i mangaed it, but that was it.

lol same thing happend to me just out of the blue
