removing 4age alternator pulley

Postby l1ttle_d3vil » Wed Jan 24, 2007 10:33 pm

is there any trick / easy way to remove the pulley off the front of the alternator? obviously need to grip it really tight somehow to get the bolt loose, but the only ways I can think of will end up damaging the pulley!

any ideas?? or are special tools required?

cheers.

Nah, just hold the pulley in your hand,

But you need to use a air impact driver, or nut gun.
Air powered not elec.

Brute force and stupidity always works for me, plus a decent sized power bar :P well..... it did until I bought me an impact gun - nothing like the easy way to do things.

What I used is 27mm(?) spanner and jammed the end of the shaft (which is 14mm(?) hex anyway) in the vices. No rattle gun would loosen it BTW.
