Removing AC condensor from AE92 4AGE

Postby fuzzilogyc » Fri Feb 02, 2007 12:54 pm

Hey guys,

I've taken all the A/C stuff out of my 91 AE92 fxgt except the condensor(?) that runs off the power steer belt. The reason i can't take the condensor off is because the belt tensioner tensioner bracket is mounted to the AC condensor. Has anyone else had this problem? Or got any ideas? Cheers

Thats the pump aswell, will help with your searches.

But yes, you need to make a bracket.

Is the pump in good condition? If it is I would be keen to grab it off you.

Most likely you will need to make up some sort of bracket or adjustment with the PS pump to make adjustment.

I removed the aircon when I put in my smallport motor. I made up a bracket to use with the PS pump so that would provide the tension for the belt.

have a look at pick a part
i think you can adapt a 4afe pulley to fit.
sending the pump away and spending $70ish bucks prob isnt the best option!

ok, you have 2 options

make something fit yourself

pay some one to make one for you

there is no off the shelf option

im currantly looking at it for a mate, i think modyfing an idler off something else is the best way to go, how ever due to time i wont be experimenting for another few weeks yet

yeah i realise that i'll need to have something made whether by myself, or by someone else. its just i'm not keen to do it myself if its going to require a lot of work.... :) if its a simple job like grabbing an idler off some other car at pick a part and just chopping bits off, then sweet....

if could well be.
i reckon i can get something to fit with no more than a little drilling.
but i cant get to pick a part for about 2 weeks, so i cant look into it further untill then
