Are they all that reliable? I've heard nothing but bad stories about them. Bosch ones seems to super reliable.

yea mine was fine. And yes do not let ur car run low on gas, as you will get alot of surging cos those little pumps dont like it.

Out of the couple of Hundred Walbro pumps we've sold in the last 2 or so years I have one come back. I have never bothered to check to see if it does/doesn't work as I just replaced it & informed the supplier who supplied us one to replace it free of charge on our next order. Basically any fuel pump will die if you run it low on gas as the vast majority use the fuel pumped through them to help cool them and/or as a lubricant barrier between the parts. Also when you run most fuel tanks dry you end up sucking up all the shit & debris in the bottom of the tank. The main cause for fuel pump failuer after lack of gas is incorrect installation with regard to wiring & the filter/pickup or plumbing them backwards. I've got a couple of holleys here that have got so hot the inside steel vanes have turned blue, the pumps stopped working, but they've been stripped & reassembled & work perfectly fine again now.

I will say with Walbro pumps that I seen some pumps that are sold as Walbro that definately aren't a genuine walbro so it probably pays to buy from a reputable company that is buying the quality stuff. Bosch stuff is good but in saying that I've had a dud 044 pump in the last 12 months that just wouldn't go, but once again that was probably a one out of a hundred chance so pretty low.

And if your fitting a Walbro to an ae101 gtz, you have to grind the welds off the outlet tube and move it across so it lines up with the pump outlet as its on the opposite side to a stock gtz one.

there are two different walborough part numbers, for that very reason, the outlets are on different sides
