is there an ezy way to get these out

Postby eskimo » Sun Mar 25, 2007 11:47 pm

Hey,

i have to replace the top ball joint in my curren. How do i take tjhe old ones out, i have removed the little retaining circlip type things and the nut on the bottom.

my question is do i have to take the whole assembly out to use a press to get the old ones out and fit the new ones, or is there a way to get around taking the whole strut assembly out.

Cheers

I took my whole strut out to use a press.

Heard somewhere that you can get it out by using two hammers and smashing the bit thats holding it with both at the same time.
Tried it but didn't do much for me.

I found it took less time just taking the strut out as there is less $&#$% around. I was trying the hammer thing for twice as long and got nowhere.
