URGENT ADVICE PLEASE!!

Postby ze-fighter » Wed Mar 28, 2007 8:35 pm

Hey all, im replacing the superstrut arm in the passenger side of my ae101 levin.

Ok so.. The balljoint that is connected to the strut arm, just wont budge! Iv tried shocking it off with a hammer, tried using a gear puller. And tonight I even got the gas torch on the job. But still to no avail.

Do any of you have any good tips you have learnt from this exercise? Any input is much appreciated.

Get a bigger hammer? I've never had one that wouldnt come off with a decent hit. full length extension holding by end of hammer handle swing if nessacary

actually, thinking about it, if you've used heat you may have hardened it depending on how hot you got it, and it may shatter when bashed with a big hammer.

be careful. safety first. etc.

thanks man. yea im thinking il take the whole strut out and attack it that way. if the hammer isnt a success, il be drilling it out.

also thinking back, my drivers side wasnt a pain like this either.
