t50 and support brackets

as we a doing smallport into rwd,is it nesssary to put the two lower support brackets on or a the 4 bolts that hold it to the block sufficient.I know that these brackets would have to be modified to fit around the new engine mounts.

I know of a friend who raced on Taupo 6 or 7 seasons with 4age T50 without using the braces. Didn't have a problem... That said fit them if you can - I guess Toyota used them to help get reliability (3 or 400,000 km or so).

i have been infomed to use them where practical. seemingly they reduce bellhousing flex and reduce premature failure of the input shaft bearings.

i haven't had mine fitted in the 18 or so months my cars been on the road, never had problems. i tried fitting them but part of my steering rack ended up hitting them...
